Seoul Dining Guides by Seoul City

Seoul City has published two dining electronic-guides – titled Soul Food of Seoul – so that visitors and tourists may fully enjoy their culinary experience of the city.

The first guide, A Delicious Epicurean Journey, introduces Korean cuisine (hansik). It also lists excellent restaurants located in popular tourist districts such as Insadong, Itaewon, and Gangnam.

The guide also details Seoul’s 10 best food alleys that specialize in serving a specific dish, such as galbi (grilled meat), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and even pig feet or hand-pulled noodles are favorite local hang-outs that make Seoul uniquely charming and full of flavor.

The list of restaurants includes useful information for tourists such as: best-known dishes, price range, directions, languages spoken, contacts, operating hours and more. Read the e-book here.

The second guide, A Guide for Vegetarians, sets out to guide vegetarians around the city. Three types of vegetarian restaurants are surveyed, including Buddhist temple restaurants, traditional Korean vegetarian restaurants, and restaurants that serve vegetarian fares. Furthermore, a list of halal restaurants is also included in this guide for Muslim travelers. Read the e-book here.
